Why choose wood flooring?
Wide plank flooring

Glue down or floating installation
Glue down wood flooring offers increased stability due to firm bonding with the subfloor, reduces noise transmission for a quieter environment.
Wood plank flooring 220mm wide or over is best installed glued or plugged won’t buckle over time. Floors with underfloor heating are always best glued down as there is less thermal resistance for the heat to go through. The thinner the board the less thermal resistance so we recommend a 15mm board.

Wood flooring in Kitchens
The only time we do not consider installing flooring under kitchen cabinets is if we are working with a floating system. There are 3 main advantages fitting new wood flooring wall to wall in a kitchen area.
- Moisture defense With flooring in place under cabinets, it can protect the subfloor from sneaky spills or leaks that may find their way under a cabinet.
- Thermal insulation if you ever make changes to the kitchen in the future it will be easier to do with an existing floor underneath.
- More Hygienic as there won’t be a lower section of floor to trap dirt or dust collecting on the edges of your kitchen under the cabinets.
